Triangulation Station

Use the Military Institute's in-house IPv4 & IPv6 location beacons to triangulate yourself on the internet. How you look on this page is how you look to the outside world.

Protip: Don't forget the "whereami" command-line utility!

Spoofing This Data

This tool is designed for testing your various masking utilities. If you do not know what this means, we suggest reading up on our lesson plan for User-Agent Spoofing, followed by a visit to our Security Portal, to get an idea of the myriad types of ways you can mask yourself.

Logging Policy

The Military Institute does not collect general access logs from our visitors. The data about you from each probe is lost as soon as it is sent to you.

While we do collect other types of logs (error logs & authentication failures, for example) we have no idea who is visiting this page or probing our beacons, unless they are abusing our server in such a way to trigger our alert systems. This goes not only for these beacons, but every page on our server.

More Tools

For more detailed probes on identifying characteristics that can be extracted from your browser, give the EFF's Cover Your Tracks tool an eye-opening tour.
